The breed standard also describes British Shorthair as a cobby type cat who is comprised of a compact body, a deep chest, short legs, and a big broad round head with chubby chicks. The British Shorthair was given the moniker of “The Bulldog of cats” due its appearance. All our Lionshreart Cattery cats are highly titled, winners of Best in Show at TICA -The International Cat Association in the United States and abroad. 

Our cats are known in many countries and  are the best representatives of their breed. They are well known for their excellent health; well socialized sweet and affectionate personality and for their amazing short dense crispy plush coat texture. Our Cattery does strict pedigree selection of animals, special attention is addressed to the purity of bloodlines to keep the old traditional look of Cheshire cat. 

The best representatives of the British Shorthair breed are selected for breeding and for show. The kittens  of Lionsheart Cattery are properly vaccinated, micro-chipped and we provide a health certificate from our Doctor alone with the purchase contract. Our Kittens are trained to scratching post and litter-box, and they are ready to go to their new homes when they reach four months of age.

We love cats. We found British Shorthair particularly  fascinating and affectionate. With good reason been given the nickname: Aristocrat of Shorthairs. This is one of the older cat breeds. The British Shorthair is an easy-going cat. They are generally very easy to take care. They are friendly and kind cats. They make excellent house pets and get along  quite well with everyone and especially love kids and can play with them all day! The British Shorthair cats have become increasingly popular in the film  and commercial industry as these are some of the easier cats to teach  new tricks. They do appreciate the company of another cat with the same temperament.  You may consider having two British Shorthair cats as they will totally  enjoy each other’s company.
